Discover the remarkable wilderness of Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a 62,000-acre award-winning wildlife sanctuary and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in northern Kenya. Established in 1995 from the former Ngare Sergoi Rhino Sanctuary, Lewa has become one of Africa’s leading examples of community-based conservation, where wildlife protection directly supports surrounding communities.
This safari offers a unique opportunity to experience one of Kenya’s most successful conservation landscapes. Lewa is home to approximately 14% of Kenya’s rhino population, including both black and white rhinos, and has maintained an impressive zero rhino poaching record since 2019. Visitors can also encounter the Big Five — lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos along with the region’s famous “Northern Five”: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich.
Unlike large national parks, Lewa offers a more exclusive and intimate safari experience with limited visitor numbers, ensuring peaceful wildlife viewing and personalized activities. Guests can enjoy game drives, guided bush walks, horseback safaris, camel rides, and behind-the-scenes conservation tours, including visits to the anti-poaching tracker dog unit.
