Tour Details

Experience an exclusive safari adventure at Mara Naboisho Conservancy, a 50,000-acre private wildlife conservancy located within the Greater Maasai Mara ecosystem. Established in 2010, Naboisho is a groundbreaking community-led conservation project where over 500 Maasai families have come together to lease their land for wildlife protection while still maintaining ownership and benefiting from tourism.

The name “Naboisho” means “coming together” in the Maasai language, reflecting the partnership between local communities and conservationists to protect one of Kenya’s most wildlife-rich landscapes. Unlike the main Maasai Mara National Reserve, Naboisho offers a more private and flexible safari experience, with strict limits on visitor numbers and vehicles to ensure uncrowded wildlife encounters.

The conservancy is famous for its high predator density, boasting one of the largest lion populations in Africa, including resident prides of more than 20 lions. Visitors may also encounter cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and the rare African wild dog. Because it is a private conservancy, guests can enjoy activities not permitted in national reserves, such as night game drives, guided walking safaris, and off-road wildlife tracking.
